Fighter planes worth millions of euros, bought with the money of the Greek people, supposedly to guard the airspace and borders of Greece, are taking part in exercises that mark the escalation of the imperialist war, with nuclear strikes against Russia, as revealed in an article in the Greek newspaper "TA NEA".

At the same time, the Greek government has the audacity to punish conscripts who denounce the dangers of Greek involvement in the imperialist plans of the USA, NATO, EU and Israel in the imperialist wars being waged in Ukraine and the Middle East, and participated in the anti-war demonstrations of the KKE. This has elicited a large wave of solidarity with the punished conscripts from the trade unions and mass organizations in the country.

In a commenta on the article in the newspaper "TA NEA" about the participation of Greek F-16s in a NATO nuclear exercise, the Press Office of the CC of the KKE stressed the following:

“The news that our country is participating with F-16 Viper fighters in a NATO exercise with the scenario of supporting nuclear operations is a very serious development. This fact constitutes a qualitative step-up in our country's involvement in the dangerous imperialist plans and shows that there is no limit or barrier to the strategy of implementing NATO plans, which lead to the escalation of conflicts and wars.

Our country, under the responsibility of the government and the rest of the NATO supporters, is being actively involved in the war and turned into a target of reprisals, while the people are facing very great dangers.

The government must answer whether this publication is true, and, if so, withdraw all participation of the country's armed forces, both personnel and equipment, in NATO exercises in preparation for nuclear war.”
